Temple of Artemis
One of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the world, The Temple of Artemis was built by the Lycian King, Kreisos in the 6th century BC. The ruins of its marble foundations are today scattered across the surrounding swamp lands and exhibit beautiful carvings, while a number of its artifacts have been placed in London's British Museum.

Ephesus
We will then visit the Ancient City of Ephesus, a once a thriving Roman metropolis that dates back to 10th century B.C. Its ruins have been beautifully preserved, including the Temple of Hadrian, the Great Theater and the Celsius Library that once housed more than 12,000 scrolls. Your guide will escort through the site, answering any questions you may have, and with time to visit to the impressive Terrace Houses. These were once home to the rich and famous of Ephesus' and are one of the highlights of the ancient city. They boasted heated flooring and their own private hamaam baths in them, as well as ornate tiling and mosaic flooring still visible today.

Virgin Mary House
On a hilltop not far from Ephesus sits the House of the Virgin Mary, believed to be the place John the Baptist brought her to live out her final years. Offering beautiful panoramic views across the surrounding area, it is now an important pilgrimage site for people of all faiths.

St. John Basilica
The Basilica of St John is believed to have been built upon the remains of John the Apostle in 548 AD. It was once one of the holiest churches in the region and its architecture was styled upon Istanbul's Church of the Holy Apostles.

Selcuk Ottoman Castle Panorama
Perched above the Basilica of St John is the ruined Selcuk Ottoman Castle, offering incredible views across the landscape below, dotted with historical landmarks.

Pigeon Castle Panorama
The final stop is Pigeon Island for a magical sunset over Kusadasi. Jutting out into the ocean and with its ancient Byzantine Castle, it makes for an idyllic spot to end the day.
