Rhodes/Lindos

Located just off the coast of Turkey, Rhodes is the largest of the Greek Dodecanese Islands, ringed by the blue waters of the Aegean Sea. It boasts one of the world’s best preserved medieval old towns that has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a fascinating maze of cobblestone streets and historic buildings to explore.

Cruise ships dock on the northern tip of the island, with the port situated around 10 minutes’ walk from the Old Town. Spend your time touring this ancient settlement or opt for a full-day tour that incorporates some of Rhodes’ other highlights.

Don’t miss a visit to the Palace of the Grand Masters, set within a former fortress in the Old Town and exhibiting an outstanding collection of ancient and medieval artifacts. Admire the religious frescoes and artwork of the Byzantine Museum, set within a 11th-century church, and learn about the history of Rhodes’ Jewish population at the Kahal Shalom synagogue.

Cool off in the crystal clear waters of Elli Beach at the northern tip of Rhodes town or watch the yachts coming and going from Mandraki Harbour. If you want to pick up some unique souvenirs, be sure to visit Sokratous where everything from ceramics to leather goods and rugs are on sale.

No visit to Rhodes is complete without visiting the town of Lindos, which is watched over by an ancient cliff top acropolis. Photograph the 17th-century whitewashed houses that cling to the hillside and admire the beautiful frescoes within the 15th-century Agia Panagia church, then take in the sweeping views from the Temple of Athena.

If you’re looking to just relax, then why not spend an afternoon soaking in the therapeutic waters of the Kallithea Springs. Overlooking the Bay of Kallithea, these ancient thermal springs are set within ornate buildings that feature stunning mosaics.

Our Rhodes shore excursions are led by highly knowledgeable guides who will share their insights and secrets of this magnificent island. If you can’t find the Rhodes shore excursion you are looking for here, please contact us directly so we can customize an itinerary for you.
